About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Nyata Ltd (“Nyata”, “we”, “us”) when you use the Nyata app, website or WhatsApp chat. By creating an account or using Nyata, you accept them. Our privacy notice explains how we use your information.
If you use Nyata as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
Who can use Nyata
- You need to be 13 or over to create an account. If you’re under 18, please get a parent or guardian’s permission first.
- You need to be 18 or over to make paid bookings, buy credits or book a ride.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens on it.
- One account per person. Partner and developer accounts are for the business they represent.
The AI assistant
Nyata’s characters are AI. They can get things wrong, so check anything important before you rely on it. The assistant isn’t a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser or immigration adviser, and it can’t handle emergencies.
In an emergency, call 999. For urgent medical help, call NHS 111. To talk to someone at any time, call Samaritans free on 116 123.
Opening times, prices and availability come from providers and public sources and can change, so check with the provider before you travel. You get a free daily message allowance; after that you can top up with credits (see Payments and credits). We may change or limit features to keep the service running fairly for everyone.
Using Nyata fairly
Don’t use Nyata to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone, or post hateful content;
- share sexual content, or anything that sexualises or endangers children;
- share other people’s personal information without their permission;
- send spam, scams or harmful files, or pretend to be someone else;
- get around limits or security, copy the service in bulk, or overload it;
- try to make the assistant produce harmful or illegal content.
If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit, suspend or close your account, and report illegal content to the police where we need to.
Community chat
Community chat is shared with other members, so be kind and think before you post. You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to store, show and moderate it so the chat works. We can remove posts that break these terms.
We’re not responsible for what other members post, but please report anything that worries you to support@nyataai.co.uk.
Bookings
Nyata helps you find and book local providers such as barbers, beauty salons, cleaners and drivers. The provider, not Nyata, carries out the service, so your agreement for the service itself is with them. They’re responsible for its quality and for holding any licences and insurance they need.
- Booking fee: we show our booking fee before you pay. It covers arranging your booking.
- Paying the provider: where a booking says “pay at shop”, you pay the provider directly for the service.
- Cancelling: cancel at least 24 hours before your booking and we’ll refund the booking fee. Later cancellations and no-shows aren’t refunded.
- If the provider cancels or doesn’t turn up, we refund the booking fee in full.
- Taxis: taxi booking is in a limited test and may not be available where you are. Where it is, rides are provided by independent drivers and operators, who are responsible for holding the licences their service needs.
If something goes wrong with a booking, tell us at support@nyataai.co.uk and we’ll help sort it out with the provider.
Payments and credits
- Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Payments are handled securely by Stripe.
- Credits let you keep chatting after your free daily messages run out, with top-ups from 50p. Credits can only be used on Nyata, have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
- Credits don’t expire while your account is open. If you close your account, unused credits are lost.
- If a payment goes wrong or you’re charged by mistake, contact us at support@nyataai.co.uk and we’ll put it right.
Reviews
Honest reviews help everyone choose well, so:
- You can only rate a provider after a confirmed or completed booking with them.
- Reviews must describe your own, honest experience. Don’t post reviews for someone else, or accept payment or rewards in return for a review.
- Providers must not review themselves or ask anyone to post fake reviews, and can’t pay us to remove honest ones.
- Your rating, comment and display name are shared with the provider and may be shown to other people on Nyata.
- We check reviews and remove ones that are abusive, off-topic, share personal information or aren’t genuine. We never edit a review to change its meaning.
Partners
If you list a business or charity on Nyata:
- You must be entitled to offer the service, keep your listing, prices and opening times accurate, and hold any licences and insurance your service needs.
- Honour bookings, or cancel promptly and tell the customer.
- Use customers’ details only to deliver their booking, and keep them secure. You’re responsible for that information under data protection law.
- Commission and payouts are set out in your partner agreement. Charities go through our verification checks before their services appear.
- We can pause or remove a listing that breaks these terms or puts people at risk. You can leave at any time.
Developers
Use of the Nyata API is covered by the terms on our developer pages. Keep your API keys secret; you’re responsible for anything done with them. The API is for finding services and information, not for making bookings.
Our content and yours
The Nyata name, app, design and content belong to Nyata Ltd. You can use them to use Nyata, but not copy, resell or build on them without our permission. What you create and post stays yours. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Nyata.
Changes to the service
We’re always improving Nyata, so features may change, pause or end. Some, such as taxi booking and Professional Support, are still in testing or on a waitlist. Where we can, we’ll give you reasonable notice of changes that affect you significantly. We work hard to keep Nyata running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms or don’t use reasonable care and skill, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We don’t exclude or limit our liability where the law doesn’t allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Providers you book are responsible for the services they carry out. The assistant gives general information, so please check anything important before you rely on it. If you use Nyata for business, we’re not liable for lost profits, business or opportunities.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety stops us. Our privacy notice explains what happens to your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account.
Problems, complaints and the law
If you have a problem, contact us at support@nyataai.co.uk or on +44 117 463 5455 and we’ll try to put it right. For complaints about how we handle your data, see our privacy notice.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
